Izabella Bindler was born in Vladivostok (Russia) in 1932. From 1951 through 1957, she studied in the graphics department of the Lithuanian Artistic Academy.
Having received an artistic education Izabella worked quite a bit in the area of posters and prints, drew with pastels, created bookplates, dabbled in graphics and monotype printing. But only the tranluscenceand softness of watercolors permitted the fullest expression of she’s kind and tender perception of the world.
She became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1963.
The first big exhibition of Izabella’s Bindler work took place in 1982 in the Vilnius Palace of Artistic Exhibitions. On the basis of the watercolorpaintings shown there, the Lithuanian publishing house “Vaga” in 1986 published a book-album about she’s work within the series “Modern Lithuanian Painter”.
Besides eight personal exhibitions in the capital of Lithuania and many multi-artist exhibitions, Izabella’s works have been exhibited in the galleries of Australia, Germany, Israel, and also in Moscow, Venice, Havana, Paris and London.
Thus, many paintings have ended up in museums and private collections of many countries of the world.
